Excitement is at a peak among The Legend of Zelda fans as the next game in the venerable series is due to arrive on Nintendo Switch later this year.
Entitled ‘Tears of the Kingdom’ – the game will be the follow up to 2017’s Breath of the Wild – and though Nintendo’s been very cagey with info so far, we do know when we should expect it.

As announced last September, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (to give the game its full name) will release on the Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023.
The date came after a good couple of years of teasing on the title from Nintendo, who held off on revealing the game’s name until the release date reveal.
Indeed, up until then it was known only as ‘The Sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ officially, and by fans as TLoZ: Breath of the Wild 2.
It was first confirmed the sequel was in the works during the Nintendo Direct broadcast from E3 2019. It’d be three years later before we got that title and release date, so fans are understandably excited.
