WHSmith will once again stock video games after GAME announced it is to open a small number of concessions within selected stores.

“GAME Retail is rolling out a small number of concessions as part of an ongoing trial across WHSmith stores in 2016,” GAME told MCV. “Alongside our 300 High Street stores it means easier access to top video games, accessories and merchandise for our community of gamers nationwide.”

WHSmith was a longtime stockist of video games, but withdraw from the market back in 2010. It’s not known how many concessions will be opened, or in which stores they will be found.

GAME isn’t new to operating concessions, having previously been found in some Comet and Debenhams stores.

Whilst the concessions will be relatively small by nature, GAME is in the process of closing some of its smaller traditional stores in favour of opening larger stores which will also be home to new gaming arenas.
