Toshihiro Nagoshi, head of Sega’s Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, has revealed the developer currently has no plans to bring the Yakuza franchise to Nintendo Switch.

Yakuza has a long-standing history with PlayStation, although a couple of entries have made it to other platforms, notably Yakuza 1 & 2, which were ported to Wii U.

However, speaking with IGN Japan, Nagoshi-san confirmed there’s ’no plans at the moment’ to bring Kazuma Kiry’s epic gangster-smashing series to Ninty’s hybrid console.

Speaking of Nintendo, Nagoshi said that he’d welcome the chance to see Kiryu turn up in a Super Smash Bros. game, but reckons creator Masahiro Sakurai wouldn’t be interested. I guess there’s always Tekken 7?

Switching subjects to Judgment, the game’s producer, Kazuki Hosokawa touched base on a PC version: ‘It’s not impossible, but I can’t say either way.’

Sega is currently working on a brand new Yakuza game, while the US and UK edition of Judgment is launching in June.
