2K has announced the latest entry in its sports entertainment simulation series – WWE 2K23 – will be arriving as soon as this March.
This year’s game will feature crossover star John Cena on the cover, and will also mark the debut of the popular WarGames (or WARRRGHHGAAAAMMMESSS, if you will) match type in the 2K series.
2K’s also bringing back a number of popular modes from last year’s well received entry, including 2K Showcase, MyGM, MyFACTION, Universe and MyRISE.
WWE 2K23 release date
WWE 2K23 is set to release on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam on March 17, 2023.
However, those who stump up for the game’s Deluxe Edition and Icon Edition will be able to play three days earlier, with those versions allowing access from March 14. 2023.
As well as gracing the cover of all three versions, John Cena will also be the focus of this year’s 2K Showcase mode, but with an interesting twist.
Rather than playing as the 16-time World Champion in pivotal moments of his career, you’ll actually take on the role of his opponents. Cena himself will be narrating the action – giving insight into the match from his perspective.
While a full roster is yet to be confirmed, so far those confirmed include Roman Reigns, Ronda Rousey, Brock Lesnar, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Drew McIntrye, Bobby Lashley, Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair.
As a special pre-order bonus, another confirmed character is recording artist Bad Bunny. Fresh off his recent appearances such as last year’s Royal Rumble – he’ll be included in a Bad Bunny Bonus Pack at launch.
