The World of Warcraft Remote Auction House is now available in beta form. The newly available beta allows World of Warcraft players to access the in-game Auction House via the Armory website, or through an application available on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Not all realms have access to the beta, so make sure and check the official list to see if you can join in.
The features reserved for the premium version of the Remote Auction House are also available for the duration of the beta for free. Premium features include bidding or buying out items for sale, or selling your personal items from your bank, mail and inventory, along with other typical features you have access to at the in-game Auction House. During the beta, users will be limited to 25 different actions per day, but that amount is expected to be increased upon release. Oh, and the Premium Remote Auction House will cost player $2.99 a month.

It’s been a few years since I’ve played World of Warcraft, but I was fairly dedicated to it when I did play. Even then, I don’t think I would ever pay $3 a month for access to the Auction House from my cell phone. In fact, the main users of this service would seem to be users whose primary focus is gold and the auction house: i.e. Gold Farmers. They also seem like the most likely to pay for such a service.
