Xbox published their latest financial results last night, and a following conference call with CEO Satya Nadella revealed that Xbox Game Pass subscriptions are up to a whopping 18 million players worldwide. As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, the company’s gaming revenues went up by 51% to more than $5 billion USD and revenue from third party titles exceeding $2 bliion USD for the first time last quarter ending December 31, 2020. Nadella also confirmed during the call that the Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X launches last November were the “most successful in our history with the most devices ever sold in a launch month,” keeping up the precedent it set during the new consoles’ launch weekend....

A recent digital sale just went live on the Xbox store, and it benefits Xbox Live Gold subscribers the most. The Double Discounts with Gold and Ultimate Sale and the Resident Evil franchise sale both go live today and offer plenty of game deals from indies to the biggest of AAA games. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a highlight of this sale, being offered at an all-time low $35.99 for Gold members....

Bandai Namco has announced that the tiny pixelated creature that lived in a plastic keychain egg in the 90s will make a return next year as My Tamagotchi Forever. 2018 will see Tamagotchi coming to your mobile devices and smartphones on iOS and Android. Now a whole new generation will learn the joy of Tamagotchi: all the fun of cleaning up a small animal’s faeces, but without being able to actually cuddle it....

When it comes to Yu-Gi-Oh!, there’s no Duelist better known than series protagonist himself, Yugi Muto. With home streaming rapidly on the rise, now more than ever it’s important for cinemas to offer audiences a unique viewing experience to pull them away from their sofas. One such destination is Backyard Cinema in South London. Chunkybox Games and Daedalic Entertainment have announced dungeon crawling shooter Wildcat Gun Machine for PC and consoles later this year. Described as a “bullet hell dungeon crawler” you’ll be taking on hordes of fleshy beasts and monsters. You’ll be armed to the teeth, of course, but as well as a healthy collection of guns, you’ll also get to pilot giant mech robots. You’ll even, on occasion, be accompanied by a killer kitty, why not?...

Windjammers 2 on Switch Back in 1994 the original Windjammers hit NEO GEO MVS arcade cabinets which meant those lucky few who owned the relatively obscure and expensive console could also enjoy this game at home. Unfortunately, that led to the game falling into relative obscurity until it was released on the Wii Virtual Console back in 2010 and then ported in 2017. The team behind that port, DotEmu, is now back with Windjammers 2 to put some respect on this wildly underrated franchise....

The latest slice of Wolfenstein 2 DLC is now available to pick up and it’s called The Diaries of Agent Silent Death. The second DLC lets players take on the role of OSS agent and assassin Jessica Valiant who finds herself inside the Nazi propaganda film studio Paragon Pictures. The DLC is £7.99 and it’s on Steam now.

Free-to-play MMOs are everywhere; with free-to-play MMOs such as Lord of the Rings Online, Dungeons and Dragons Online, and Company of Heroes it really was inevitable that Blizzard (the king of the MMO) would eventually take notice. PC Gamer recently had a talk with Tom Chilton, World of Warcraft’s Lead Designer, and they were able to stir up some interesting news for WoW fans – it could be made free....

World of Warcraft Classic’s launch has been extremely popular, to the point that servers and starting areas are overloaded with new players. It’s not unlike World of Warcraft’s original launch in 2004, in that regard. Due to the overpopulation of starting areas, World of Warcraft Classic players have started a wholesome trend. Instead of crowding around monsters required for quests, they’re lining up and taking turns. The World of Warcraft Classic community is coming together....

WWE 2K20 was confirmed just recently through a pair of screenshots showing Bayley and Brock Lesnar. We still know next to nothing about the new game or what it will bring to the table in terms of new features, but there are quite a few possibilities. In fact, there are five new features we would like to see in WWE 2K20 in particular that we believe will result in a much better game....

The first wave of additions to Game Pass for October have been announced, with some spooky treats available just in time for Halloween. Available to play today is Chivalry 2, which was revealed before Microsoft posted the full selection on the official Xbox blog. Félix “xQc” Lengyel hit the town for an IRL stream in downtown Toronto, and parts of it weren’t the smoothest for the French-Canadian Overwatch professional and Twitch streamer. After wandering for a bit and interacting with some “stream-sniping” fans, xQc eventually decided to try his luck at a random bar.
