Wordle Archive, a popular site which hosted older Wordle puzzles, has been forced offline by The New York Times. The site now hosts a message, spotted by Ars Technica, which states: “Sadly, the New York Times has requested that the Wordle Archive be taken down.” “The usage was unauthorised, and we were in touch with them,” a NYT spokesperson said. “We don’t plan to comment beyond that.” In January, NYT bought Wordle from its original creator Josh Wardle for a seven-figure sum, and has since made several changes which have irritated Wordle fans....

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands players can begin to get excited about the upcoming Chains of Domination, because Blizzard Entertainment has finally released the patch notes for 9.1.0 on the PTR. The update will provide some balancing to the damage-dealing specializations of classes, add new Covenant-related content, as well as introduce the expansion’s second Raid, Sanctum of Domination. The PTR patch notes revealed that two of the boss encounters in the Raid, Tarragrue and the Guardian of the First Ones, will be tested on April 16....

Microsoft has confirmed the full lineup of titles available as part of June’s Xbox Games with Gold lineup. Leading the pack is platforming stealth-’em-up Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia, which will be available June 1-30 on Xbox One. Joining the Ubisoft title will be Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed for Xbox 360, which can be snapped up from June 1-15. June 16 will see the Blue Blur and chums booted out in favour of Xbox 360 outing LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The New Adventures, which will remain there until June 30....

An unannounced PS4 and Xbox One port of Ubisoft’s Wii U survival horror ZombiU has been rated in Taiwan. The game, which appears to simply be called ‘Zombi’, was spotted on the ratings board’s website by Twitter sleuth lifelower, and includes a piece of artwork featuring the new name. The game was rumoured to be in development for the two platforms just prior to E3 and has also been rated in Auutralia, but has yet to be formally announced by Ubisoft....

Social gaming giant Zynga, the time-stealers behind the hugely successful FarmVille, have announced that on August 2nd they are shutting down one of their other Facebook games, Street Racing, yet do not plan to offer refunds on the purchased items. Xbox Game Pass adds six new games for subscribers on PC and Xbox One to enjoy. This month, the game subscription service has also added games such as Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition. The first major patch for XCOM 2 is now available, bringing much needed performance improvements, balance tweaks and bug fixes, Firaxis has announced. You should see the patch automatically install when starting the Steam client. “This patch introduces new fixes, balance tweaks, and several performance optimizations in the game that should improve framerates and in-game delays overall,” states the developer. A new ‘Zip Mode’ has also been added, letting players enable a faster paced experience (under the gameplay options) that speeds up animations and some gameplay delays....

Destiny 2 PC players can now link their save files from Battle.net to Steam. For those who are unfamiliar, Bungie announced back in July that Destiny 2 would be changing storefronts. The move occured at the end of the company’s partnership with Activision. Since Bungie will take the helm as Destiny 2‘s publisher, they were forced to move the game off of Activision-Blizzard’s storefront. The official migration to Steam will occur in October, so players have until then to officially link their accounts....

The World of Warcraft team has revealed a new realm called Ardenweald which will play a major role in the game’s upcoming Shadowlands expansion. “The ethereal umbral forests of Ardenweald are where wild spirits return after their time on the mortal plane come to an end so that they can again be reborn,” reads a post on the World of Warcraft blog. “However, this lush afterlife paradise has suffered greatly from the mysterious anima drought plaguing the Shadowlands....
