Even though rumors consistently swirled following the success of the 2009 Zombieland film, it felt like a pipedream that a sequel would ever come to fruition. Fast-forward ten years later, and not only do we have an entirely new movie, but also two original video games; one for consoles and PC, and one on mobile devices. As exciting as that is, it’s probably best to play both games with fairly tempered expectations, as the Zombieland IP isn’t necessarily one of the upper echelon Hollywood franchises....

Following its official reveal last week, seven minutes of new gameplay footage from developer Omega Force’s upcoming monster hunting adventure Wild Hearts has been shared online. Wild Hearts, a collaboration between EA Originals and Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force (the studio behind the long-running Warriors series), transplants the creature battling formula most closely associated with Capcom’s Monster Hunter games to a fantastical feudal Japan where up to three players can battle mysterious beasts known as Kemono....

Cyberpunk 2077 could very well be the most anticipated game of 2020, and CD Projekt RED is offering prizes for the game to people who can capture the Cyberpunk “vibe” that Cyberpunk 2077 looks to take advantage of to a tee. Cyberpunk 2077’s official website offers details on all that the competition entails. In a brief summary, the website states that those interested are to obtain a camera and “capture the dark future” in their area....

The Alpha for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is live and Den of Geek had an opportunity to check out the long-running MMO’s upcoming expansion. We visited the Bastion zone, the Necrotic Wake dungeon, and saw first-hand the upcoming class and gameplay changes, and we’ll have additional coverage in the coming weeks as Blizzard continues to release new Alpha and Beta content. When Battle for Azeroth launched in August 2018, the game had some positive things going for it....

With more than a half-dozen games on its way in the next few weeks, August promises to be an exciting month for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Microsoft’s Netflix-like gaming service has hinted at six games this month, and Xbox Game Pass’s official Twitter account recently released three of its offerings (including one surprise drop). For $9.99, Xbox Game Pass subscribers enjoy access to over 100 games, including Xbox Game Studios titles on day one and other quality games – like Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain and Resident Evil 4 – spanning the Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One libraries....

Xbox Games Pass subscribers have a lot to look forward to this month. Each month, Xbox adds a number of new games to the service, and September will see some heavy hitters join the lineup, including Dead Cells, Enter the Gungeon, and Metal Gear Solid 3. Additionally, Game Pass subscribers will receive access to Gears 5 four days ahead of its September 10 release date. While the Netflix-like games service continues to add new games on a monthly basis, not every game is here to stay....

Developer Insomniac Games has a number of well-respected exclusive titles under its belt, including the fast-selling Marvel’s Spider-Man, the dormant Ratchet & Clank franchise, and 2014’s Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive. Further, some Insomniac and Sunset Overdrive fans believe that the Xbox One title will be hitting the PlayStation 4 at some point. Before Sony had purchased the developer, Insomniac Games’ last big title on a Microsoft platform was the aforementioned Sunset Overdrive....

Microsoft’s 2015 holiday line-up of Xbox One exclusives sold 88% more units than the exclusive titles released during holiday 2014, marketing exec Aaron Greenberg has revealed. Speaking to Gamertag Radio, Greenberg explained that while the platform holder didn’t yet have “the final data for December… our exclusive titles this holiday sold 88% more units than our exclusive titles last holiday. So all up, when you take all those great titles and combine them together – Halo, Forza, Tomb Raider, Gears and Rare Replay – we saw a massive increase in game sales....

Xbox has announced the full list of 30 titles that will be available on the launch day of next-generation consoles Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S for eager adopters who get their hands on one from day one. The games are a mixture of new titles and those getting significant upgrades via Smart Delivery, and don’t include the “thousands” of titles already confirmed to work on the new Xbox consoles via backwards compatibility....

Sega has announced that Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is coming to PS4 in Europe on March 20. Yakuza 6 is the first game that uses the Dragon Engine, which was designed for PS4 development. Alongside the regular edition, Yakuza 6 is getting its first-ever premium edition. It’s the final chapter in the long-running series of the adventures of Kazuma Kiryu. Picking up after the release of Kiryu from another stretch in prison, he’s forced to find out who’s tried to kill his daughter, leading him towards a run in with the Hiroshima Yakuza....

As you may have heard, this month marks the tenth anniversary of blocky mega-phenomenon Minecraft, and with Microsoft teasing mysterious plans, developer Mojang has also released one of its own, releasing a version of the original 2009 Minecraft client entirely playable within your browser. Making the announcement on the Minecraft blog, this version of Minecraft is very stripped back from the one we know today, with only relatively basic functions, no enemies, 32 blocks and a minimal interface so if you’re used to the creature comforts from the many, many updates since release it may be a little tricky to navigate, but it does also manage to cram in some nifty multiplayer functionality just by sharing a link via your clipboard....

Futuristic racing compilation WipEout Omega Collection has been equipped with PlayStation VR support via a new update this week. Each of the three games in the bundle — WipEout HD, WipEout HD Fury, and WipEout 2048 — can now be played using Sony’s virtual reality gaming headset, and they all look rather smashing too thanks to PlayStation 4 Pro support. In addition, the new update adds a bunch of other content including 3D audio and three new ships that have been designed from the ground-up with VR compatibility in mind....

A new handful of titles are heading to Xbox Game Pass for PC before April ends. Xbox announced today that the classic Destroy All Humans remake, Phogs, and Second Extinction will arrive on the game streaming service at the end of this month. These three games may not have much in common, but they provide a little something for everyone on Xbox Game Pass for PC. This the wave of Xbox Game Pass titles begins with Phogs on April 22....

Xbox has announced the next round of additions to Xbox Game Pass for the rest of January, and it’s great news for Yakuza fans as the Yakuza Remastered Collection heads to the Xbox for the first time. As per the Xbox Wire post, first up will be Remedy’s Control which heads to the PC version of the service on January 21. That’ll be joined by Desperados III and puzzler Donut County on Android, Console and PC....

One of the biggest crowds on the expo floor at TwitchCon this year was the Human Claw Machine. Essentially, anyone willing to sign a waiver could be hoisted over a pit of blind boxes and come away with a prize. The claw game is a promotion for the Extra Life gaming charity. The machine debuted as an attraction for Extra Life at E3 in June and has since been a part of the charity’s outreach at other conventions such as PAX West....
