2K Sports recently revealed a new trailer for the upcoming WWE 2K20 video game, this time focusing on the 2K Showcase mode, which will chronicle the careers of the “Four Horsewomen” in the WWE - Bayley, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Sasha Banks. However, the trailer has not exactly had the reaction that 2K Sports may have anticipated, as it is being mocked by some fans online. The latest trailer for WWE 2K20 shows clips of some of the notable moments in WWE’s “Women’s Evolution,” along with short interviews with the wrestlers involved....

The latest big spend in the world of gaming could involve the popular streaming channel Twitch.tv. The news just broke this evening with the two companies apparently reaching a deal with Youtube to acquire the service for $1 billion in an all-cash offer. There has been no official announcement yet from either paries but the deal will apparently close “imminently”. Youtube has not managed to capture the live streaming audience so this acquisition would bolster Youtube and Google’s video offerings....

Back on January 11, 2005, Resident Evil 4 was released for the first time on the GameCube. Although the game had abandoned some of the survival horror tropes that its predecessors had popularized, it still managed to give players an immersive, well-paced action adventure game that revolutionized the third person shooter and set the stage for countless other titles in the genre to find success. Since its initial 2005 release date, Resident Evil 4 is still being played on all twelve of the platforms that it has been ported to, and it’s all thanks to the fact that the game’s excellent story and gameplay still hold up today....

The remake of Resident Evil 3 is set to drop in just a few months’ time, and for many fans of the franchise, it’s one of the most anticipated games of 2020. There’s several reasons for this, ranging from the success of the Resident Evil 2 remake and the hot streak Capcom has seemingly been on with releases to the simple nostalgia for the game. Publisher 505 Games is bombarding with questions about Death Stranding being an Epic Games Store exclusive after it confirms it will be publishing the game on PC. The publisher made the surprise announcement about Death Stranding’s PC release date today but not everyone is excited. On Twitter, 505 Games said that it is “incredibly excited” to announce that it will be publishing Death Stranding on PC next year, but many of the more than 200 responses to the post are from people asking if the game will be an Epic Games Store exclusive....

This week’s Epic Games Store free offer has come at last, and this time it’s for publisher Dotemu and developer Lizardcube’s Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap. Serving as a remake of 1989’s Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap, this lovingly animated 2D platformer will remain free to claim until July 21 at 11 AM ET. As soon as we reach that time, the Epic Games Store will begin offering M2H and Blackmill Games’ Tannenberg until July 28....

Blizzard has released the World of Warcraft 7.3.5 patch notes ahead of the update which is scheduled to go live tomorrow (16 January in the US and 17th in the EU). This update introduces the zone scaling for all zones which will give players more options on what content they want to tackle next. A new Silithus Battleground called Seething Shore has been added, and there are more changes to classes....

Blizzard has confirmed that the long-awaited Ahn’Qiraj update for World of Warcraft Classic will be released on July 28. “We’re putting the finishing touches on the next patch for WoW Classic. Version 1.13.5 will go live in July,” reads a post from a Blizzard community manager on the World of Warcraft forums. “With that patch, we’ll be ready to unlock the content we’ve been testing on the PTR. The Ahn’Qiraj content will unlock with the weekly raid reset on July 28 for all realms in this region....

Blizzard has had plenty on their hands recently, as they have had to deal with DDoS attacks that have affected World of Warcraft Classic. The attacks caused high latency and disconnections. Blizzard has mostly solved the problem, but is continuing to monitor the situation. On September 7th, starting around 11AM EST, World of Warcraft Classic players began to experience issues connecting to the game. Blizzard soon confirmed that they were facing DDoS attacks and working hard to get the game running....

The official WWE 2K Games Twitter account has told fans it should tune in to Wrestlemania this weekend for a ‘special announcement’ related to the wrestling simulation series. There’s no word yet on precisely what the announcement will consist of, but it’s widely expected to be the reveal of this year’s game in the form of WWE 2K22. The main series took a year off in 2020 following a poor critical reception to the notoriously buggy release of WWE 2K20, the first entry in the series following the departure of long-time development studio Yukes....

The Contessa is an intriguing character—she’s smart, sassy, strong, and has impeccable fashion sense—however, the show has prioritized the mystery of her character over the exploration of it. It took a similar tactic last season with Rosita, who served a similar, narrow function in the show that never fully paid off: a character of color who is romantically involved with Doc, is somehow tied to Purgatory’s past, and who has the begrudging respect of Wynonna, yet is still very much treated as an outsider....

The first in a new character focussed video series for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been released. The video takes a closer look at X-Wing pilot Poe Dameron, one of the Resistance’s most trusted operatives. The game will feature original dialogue from Oscar Isaac, who plays Poe in the film. Major Nelson has announced that the Xbox One X will be at gamescom 2017 in Cologne, the first time the console will be available for gamers to get a hands on in Europe. There will also be a series of Xbox One X related announcements. The show will broadcast live on August 20 at 8pm BST. Major Nelson’s announcement also confirms there’ll be 27 playable games for the Xbox One and Windows 10 PC at Gamescom, including Forza 7, Sea of Thieves and the first-look at Age of Empires Definitive Edition....

Xbox Game Pass for PC has a busy two weeks ahead. Xbox announced today that a whopping nine games will arrive on the streaming service between now and May 27, including hits like Maneater, Slime Rancher, and SnowRunner. In just a few days, Knockout City will also have its day one EA Play launch on Xbox Game Pass. This lineup is definitely worth checking out. Xbox has already kicked off May’s second wave of Xbox Game Pass titles with with SnowRunner, available now....

YouTube has lowered restrictions on videos depicting violence in uploaded video game content. YouTube has always had a tricky relationship when it came to violence in uploaded video games. Real-life blood and gore were almost universally removed (at least, once YouTube knew about its existence), but video game violence was harder to deal with. After all, if it’s a game in millions of households already, does it make sense to remove it for depicting a bit of violence?...

YouTuber Brooke Houts came under fire after accidentally uploading a video revealing her abusing her dog. The issue comes just a few weeks after Twitch streamer Alinity was seen throwing her cat, giving her cat alcohol, and kicking her dog, which prompted an investigation by Twitch and animal protection services. On YouTube, Houts uploaded a video titled “plastic wrap prank on my doberman!” where she put plastic wrap on a door frame and was going to film her dog, Sphinx, as he ran into it....
