Late last year, I had the opportunity to preview a new upcoming co-op puzzle game: Zorya: The Celestial Sisters. Anyone who has played with me knows a co-op puzzle with me at the helm is a recipe for frustration and fury, which is why I’m pleased to announce I will be irritating them to death with this charming puzzler. Puzzle games have definitely leveled up lately, what with It Takes Two making waves and other smaller titles like Tandem: A Tale of Two Shadows rising to prominence....

The Chainsaw Man anime and manga is full of fun abilities and powers, which give it a distinct flavor from other Shonen offerings. In addition to the main character’s ability to sprout Chainsaws from almost any part of his body, other characters can form pacts with Devils and carry out insane feats in exchange for power. As this year comes to a close, I can’t help but to reflect on one of the best games I had the pleasure of playing back in April. Katana ZERO was developed by Justin Stander of Askiisoft and seemed to materialize out of nowhere in early 2019. As a fan of 2D action platformers, it quickly caught my attention and I’m glad that it did. There’s no Star Fox or The Legend of Zelda for Wii U this holiday season, but Wii U fans will soon be able to play Minecraft, Mojang has announced. Minecraft: Wii U Edition will be available via the Nintendo eShop from December 17, and includes six content packs, plus Wii U exclusive features such as off-TV play on the GamePad. Battle & Beasts Skin Pack Battle & Beasts 2 Skin Pack Natural Texture Pack City Texture Pack Fantasy Texture Pack Festive Mash-up Pack 16 other packs will also be available at launch and there is the promise of exclusive collaborative content from Nintendo and Mojang to be released at a later date....

During a recent interview with the news site, CVG, Tameem Antoniades, co-founder of Ninja Theory and chief designer of Heavenly Sword, said “to do 3D properly you need to render 60 frames per second, per eye, and at least a 720p resolution. So in essence, that’s 1080p rendering at 120 frames per second and the current generation can only process very rudimentary graphics at that spec.” He went on to say “the technology’s limited now, so you won’t be able to play stuff that looks like Avatar - the movie - in 3D....

For the uninitiated, the aim of Wordle is to work out a daily five-letter word within six guesses. The fewer the guesses, the better - and if you fail to guess it at all, you’ll break your streak. Developers M2H and Blackmill Games have spent the last few months fine-tuning Tannenberg. This World War I shooter, a follow-up to Verdun, is set on the Eastern Front of the Great War. With wide-open fields, rolling hills, and vast forests, it differentiates itself from its predecessor (given how the Western Front was known for bombed-out ruins and the trenches of No Man’s Land). Well, Tannenberg does still have some trenches for you to fight in if that’s your thing....

On November 12, a World of Warcraft Classic update introduced the Honor System, and players have been on the hunt for honorable kills ever since. While some fans are currently enjoying the game’s new incentives for PvP, the imbalance that exists between the two factions on most servers has turned the WoW Classic Honor System into a point of frustration for many players. Indeed, rampant ganking and camping is making it difficult for some players to find any enjoyment in the game at this time, but one fan is looking to provide these players with a clever solution....

WoW Dragonflight is the latest expansion in Blizzard’s widely popular franchise. It introduces plenty of new features, such as a new race and class, and even a higher level cap. With its release just one month away, 20th Century Fox has released the final trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse. Directed by Bryan Singer and featuring a cast of familiar and new faces, X-Men: Apocalypse sees Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), the first and most powerful mutant, awaken after thousands of years. Disillusioned with the world he gathers a team of mutants to create a new world. Only the X-Men, led by Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) and Professor X (James McAvoy), can save humankind....

Microsoft has announced that a more complete version of Xbox Game Pass has been “built for PC”. This will allow Windows 10 owners to gain access to over 100+ PC games “from over 75 content partners”. More details will be provided at Microsoft’s E3 briefing on June 9, but a few key details have already been revealed. Bright Horizons The company admits that it has “not always lived up to [its] aspiration of keeping gamers at the center of everything [it does] when it comes to the experience they’ve had on Windows”....

Microsoft will launch its long-rumoured, disc-less version of the Xbox One S in May, according to a new report on Windows Central. The new model will reportedly be called the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, and is said to pack more or less the same horsepower under the hood as the existing Xbox One S. Microsoft is supposedly aiming for a ’near-global simultaneous launch’ this spring, with pre-orders set to open in April....

Now that Sony has finally revealed most of the specs for the PlayStation 5, we can finally compare it to the Xbox Series X in order to answer the question: “Which console is more powerful?” While the success of each console will come down to the games themselves, the specs of a console is often a fascinating window into what kinds of experiences it will be capable of delivering. Comparing consoles is less about deciding which is better and more about celebrating what the differences of these consoles mean and how each will challenge the other to elevate the art of gaming....

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is at No.1 in the physical retail charts in the UK (via GamesIndustry.biz). This ends the reign of Animal Crossing: New Horizons after three whole weeks, and the game settles for No.2 with sales down 50 per cent week-on-week. Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has more than doubled the sales of the original game in the equivalent period in 2011. Moreover, this figure only counts the physical sales and not the digital downloads from the Nintendo eShop....

Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku held a livestream to show off new gameplay of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, which included new insights to its combat mechanics, the cinema minigame, and the karaoke feature (via DualShockers). Firstly, the combat system was shown. Its ‘live command RPG battle’ style has been explained previously, but it became clear that Kasuga and his party will be able to down enemies, and they will do more damage when their foe is prone....

‘Why didn’t this happen sooner?’, I hear you ask. Well I don’t know either, but yes, Super Mario Hot Wheels cars – shaped after the actual characters – are finally a thing. The six miniature cars, themed after Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Toad, Peach and Bowser, are racing into North American stores now, although we don’t yet know if there’s also plans to roll them out in the UK. If you’re in the US, expect to see them in Toys R Us, Target and Walmart....

One of the most iconic monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh! is without a doubt the Red-Eyes Black Dragon. This dragon that isn’t very good was Joey Wheeler’s ace monster in the anime, and has since been reworked time and time again into countless different (much, much better) variants of itself. However, the original card has also received various reprints with different artworks that give it a completely different vibe. Today, we’re going to take a look at all of those different artworks, and rank which is the best of the best of the Red-Eyes Black Dragon....

The director of The Witcher 3 and other former CD Projekt staff have founded a new studio, Rebel Wolves, to work on a “AAA dark fantasy” role-playing game. Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, who also worked on Cyberpunk 2077 as head of production and a secondary director, announced the move in a press release today. Their new studio will aim to break “away from the weight of AAA development studios and approaching every goal as a team”....

The most recent Net-gen update brought several changes to the Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. The update included several Netflix-themed content, graphical improvements, and more. This update also includes some old recurring gameplay mechanics, elements, and settings. One of these includes Enemy Upscaling which increases the power level of your enemies.
