Released this past September by small indie developer Spiders Games, GreedFall is in many ways the little game that could. It also feels a lot like a game from the Dragon Age franchise–which is great news for BioWare fans thirsting for a new game to explore and entirely intentional on Spiders’ part. GreedFall is an action roleplaying game set in a 17th-century fantasy world, complete with magic, swords, monsters, and fancy swashbuckling headgear....

It’s late on a Friday afternoon when Den of Geek and a handful of others are shepherded onto a sound mixing stage at Warner Bros. Studios to get a new(ish) glimpse of Shazam!, the upcoming movie based on one of DC’s most venerable and purely enjoyable characters. Shazam! is, at its heart, a story of wish fulfillment, as teen orphan Billy Batson (Asher Angel, aged up slightly from the comic book version of the character) is granted the ability by an ancient wizard to transform into a super-powered adult being with strength, invincibility, flight and other powers — all by saying the wizard’s name: Shazam!...

Today Electronic Arts released a new gameplay trailer of the upcoming monster-hunting game Wild Hearts. The trailer focuses on the Karakuri, sophisticated gadgets created by lost technology which are able to change shape and function to give the player the upper hand in the game. We see how they can be used to set a wide variety of traps for the “Kemono” (which is what the monsters are known as in the game), but that’s just the tip of the iceberg....

Finally, after trollhunters and aliens, Dreamworks Animation’s Tales of Arcadia animated series has arrived on the most rad of all possible magical entities: Wizards. That’s right, Wizards: Tales of Arcadia is set to arrive on Netflix this summer. Tales of Arcadia is a trilogy animated TV series developed by beloved film director Guillermo del Toro. The first installment was 2016’s Trollhunters and the second installment was 2018’s 3Below. Wizards will feature 10 episodes and will be the conclusion of the franchise....

The Wonder Woman sequel is currently filming and we just got our first proper look of the production thanks to returning director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot. But perhaps even bigger than the reveal that Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor will look so good following his untimely death at the end of Wonder Woman is the revelation that the sequel will be titled Wonder Woman 1984. We already knew the Wonder Woman sequel would be set in the 1980s, but the fact that 1984 isn’t just the setting, but part of the title, suggests an unanticipated Orwellian significance to the picture....

After months of anticipation, Laminar Research has formally released X-Plane 12 into Early Access. With this new version of the long-running flight simulator comes a slew of new graphical upgrades, brand-new included aircraft, a “4D” weather engine, and more. Since X-Plane 12 has released as an Early Access title, Laminar describes it as a project that’s “still in active development.” Heading to its product landing page makes it clear that anyone who chooses to buy it now is an Early Adopter....

Shortly before the release of Borderlands 3, Gearbox Software released new DLC for Borderlands 2. Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary bridged the gap between the two games and introduced a new weapon rarity, effervescent but more commonly known as rainbow weapons. These proved to be incredibly popular in the community, with many expecting to see these added in Borderlands 3. Prior to the threequel’s release, these weapons were confirmed not to be in the game at launch....

Today Lucasfilm released a new trailer for the upcoming Willow TV Show, which is coming soon to Disney+. The trailer provides glimpses of the story and a look at the characters. Witcher author Andrzej Sapkowski has issued a statement to CD Projekt demanding $16 million USD. Today, however, CD Projekt refused to agree to the terms. Looks like we have a legal brawl brewing. It’s no secret that Sapkowski isn’t a fan of video games. He would rather drink vodka or play cards; playing games is a waste of time, he told Eurogamer last year. In the early 2000s, Sapkowski sold the licensing rights to CD Projekt for a lump sum, instead of a percentage of sales....

Publisher Ysbryd Games announced World of Horror today, a retro horror game scheduled to release in 2019. According to the publisher, World of Horror developer Panastaz drew inspiration from Junji Ito and H.P. Lovecraft in creating the horror RPG. The game’s announcement trailer sets a bleak tone. Though it looks minimalistic, the game’s lo-fi art adds a sense of quiet dread. In World of Horror, players must try and survive in a small, seaside Japanese town....
