There’s a bit of bad news for anyone looking forward to the arrival of free-to-play arena shooter Star Wars: Hunters; developer Zynga has announced it’s delaying the game’s full release into 2023 in order to ensure it “meets the high expectations we are setting”. This isn’t the first delay for Star Wars: Hunters, of course; announced back in February 2021 for Switch, iOS, and Android, the game was originally expected to launch later that year, but eventually saw its full release pushed into 2022....

Blizzard services are facing a second day of technical issues due to ongoing Denial of Service attacks. Yesterday, World of Warcraft Classic services became severely loaded due to a targeted DDoS attack, leading to increased latency and disconnects. Blizzard ultimately took its World of Warcraft Classic servers down and restarted them once the DDoS attacks were resolved. However, yesterday’s DDoS attack has resurfaced as of Sunday morning, but this time the DDoS is affecting Blizzard services across the board....

The more people that Archetype Entertainment hires, the more it looks like Wizards of the Coast is just trying to recreate BioWare in everything but name. We already know that Archetype Entertainment, the autonomous game studio owned by Wizards of the Coast, was founded by former BioWare employees James Ohlen and Chad Robertson. We also already know that Drew Karpyshyn, BioWare’s former lead writer, has joined the company. But you can’t just make a game company out of three people, so of course there have been other, less-reported hires since the studio’s launch....

Assault on Blackwing Lair is a 40-person raid that will see WoW: Classic players delve into the depths of Blackrock Mountain to deal with the scheming Nefarian. Nefarian is the son of the infamous Deathwing. While he isn’t quite on the same scale as his father, in terms of size and power, he’s certainly a challenge for the level 60 heroes of Azeroth. Nefarian has been experimenting with the blood of the Dragon Flights to produce unstoppable warriors....

WWE 2K16 will ship with more than 120 unique wrestler models, the WWE2Kdev Twitter and Instagram accounts have confirmed. “For anyone doubting the ‘largest roster ever’ tag line for WWE 2K16, let us assure you, that we are bringing over 120 unique playable Superstars and Divas to the game. “Now when we say unique, we’re not counting the repeats like 5 John Cena models, or 8 Mark Henry models. As you can imagine, these models are keeping us crazy busy, but it is worth it....

Yesterday, Microsoft announced and released two new games onto their Xbox Game Pass service. The first is indie pinball Metroidvania mashup Yoku’s Island Express. The second is not a full game, but the third episode of Life is Strange 2, the preceding two of which are also on Game Pass. Microsoft’s games subscription service is quite prolific, adding new games multiple times per month. Game Pass added three new games just over a week ago, and yesterday added these additional two for the month of August....

The new gaming technologies emerging for Microsoft’s Xbox series are opening new paths for how games can be played. This has led to new ideas about old titles, one in particular being the now defunct Xbox version of 1 vs. 100. 1 vs. 100 was an adaptation of a game show by the same name, and had two versions: Live and Extended Play. The Live version had a host, and was played in real time over Xbox Live for prizes, pitting one player (The One) against 100 (The Mob), with all other players participating as The Crowd, and answering questions on their own....

Rocket League game director Scott Rudi has confirmed that the popular vehicular footie outing is now available on Xbox Game Pass. Those of you who already own the adrenaline-pumping title can snap up a range of downloadable content at a discounted price. Rocket League originally launched back in 2015 and remains a hugelye popular multiplayer game, something which has been bolstered recently by the addition of cross-platform play. Well, unless you’re on PlayStation 4 that is, as Sony’s still being a grumpy old man and won’t play ball....

It’s Yir Auld Da! He’s back with another son, and this one gives as good as he gets. This week they’re bonding over In Verbis Virtus, a first-person spellcasting adventure which uses voice recognition for its magic system. The problem is, Auld Da’s speech is incomprehensible to most human beings, let alone videogames.

2K Games revealed WWE 2K Battlegrounds, a bizarre and outlandish interpretation of the annual standard WWE 2K offering. Developed by Saber Interactive, Battlegrounds boasts “arcade-style action and over-the-top Superstar designs, environments and moves.” Some of the scenes in the teaser trailer are like Street Fighter and Tekken in their earnest commitment to zaniness. In a fight between John Cena and The Rock, the latter tosses the former over the top rope and possibly into the jaws of a ginormous alligator....

Gamecom kicks off today in Cologne, Germany, and Microsoft plans to start the event with some big announcements this afternoon. This year’s E3 conference was jam-packed with big news. From Marvel’s Avengers to the trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake, honestly, we are still recovering from it. Well, if you feel as if you’re in the same boat, you had better hurry up and prepare yourselves. That’s because this week is Gamescom week, one of the biggest weeks on the video game calendar....

It’s barely been three months since we dropped our review of Yakuza Kiwami on PC. However, a year has passed in the story, and protagonist Kazuma Kiryu has enjoyed some relative, well-deserved calm from the turmoil of the original’s final act. Of course, things never seem to go Kiryu’s way, as he’s once again dragged into the world of gangs and violence. And this time, he’s not the only Dragon in town....

Based on the countless tweets and Reddit posts, just about everyone woke up this morning to an email that their Google AdSense account (the account through which YouTubers are paid) had been completely canceled. Nope is the last movie from director Jordan Peele and tells the story of OJ (Daniel Kaluuya) and his sister Emerald (Keke Palmer) and their adventure in trying to get “the Oprah shot” of a strange UFO in the clouds over their ranch. At the start of the film, there’s a scene where a monkey goes crazy on the set of a 90s TV show and kills almost everyone. During the movie, you understand the connection between that scene and what’s happening with the UFO, and also why did the monkey go crazy in Nope....

Sometimes all it takes is one movie to immortalize an actor or actress for all time, and in the case of Jessica Harper, she has two: her 1974 screen debut in Brian De Palma’s cult classic, Phantom of the Paradise, and her lead role as dancer Suzy Bannion in Italian horror auteur Dario Argento’s 1977 genre classic, Suspiria. Harper has a solid legacy of other work behind her as well, including roles in movies such as Stardust Memories, My Favorite Year and Safe, plus appearances on TV series like It’s Garry Shandling’s Show, Tales from the Crypt and Crossing Jordan....

Climate deniers are lashing out against Sony for trying to use less power in the PlayStation 5. First of all, climate change is real and it will eventually lead to catastrophic changes in the environment. We’re not going to debate this point because the finest scientific minds the world over already came to this conclusion checks watch about 15 years ago.
