Today Nintendo released a new trailer of the upcoming JRPG Xenoblade Chronicles 3. The trailer focuses on showcasing the game’s beautiful world of Aionios and some of the colorful fauna that inhabits it. You can watch it below. During a livestream from Nico Nico Chokaigi in Japan, the new Ryu Ga Gotoku studio head Masayoshi Yokoyama provided a small development update on the next Yakuza game. Yokoyama-san mentioned that the development is progressing steadily and the writing team is currently working on the climax of the story, while some of the actors have already started recording. While he can’t say when the game will be released yet, he also mentioned that more information will likely come this year....

Bandai Namco will be the studio behind the fourth installment of the Metroid Prime series. According to sources speaking with Eurogamer, the studio best known for the Dark Souls trilogy and the .hack// franchise is currently working on Metroid Prime 4. Those same sources say that the specific studio is Bandai Namco Studios Japan and that they will be working in close collaboration with Nintendo to bring the fourth Metroid Prime to Nintendo Switch....

Microsoft made a series of major announcements at Gamescom 2019, from the confirmation of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds crossplay to the reveal of two new Xbox One controllers, but it says that its upcoming X019 event will be much larger. Aaron Greenberg, the general manager of Xbox Games Marketing, showed up at Gamescom 2019 to share some information about X019. Between November 14-16, 2019, the Microsoft team will head to London, England, for a three-day “celebration” of Xbox....

Xbox has unvieled the schedule for the next few games heading to Xbox Game Pass for month of September, revealing a bunch of new titles heading to the service for the first half of the month. First up from today is strategy Crusader Kings III on PC, and will be joined by Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Tell Me Why: Chapter Two and Touhou Luna Nights on both console and PC on September 3, while consoles get The Jackbox Party Park 4 and the PC service gets co-op zombie shooter World War Z....

Xbox will be returning digitally to the Tokyo Game Show 2022. Its livestream will take place on 15th September (9am UK time), curated for players in Japan and Asia. The stream will include updates on existing games from Xbox Game Studios, plus games from third party developers. Sega has booted the release of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life to April 17, the company announced on Twitter. The latest instalment in the cult Japanese gangster series was originally due to ship on March 20 and hit Japan back in December 2016. Writing in a message to fans, the development team said the delay was a ‘tough business decision’ but gives them ‘more time to line things up for launch....

Jump Force is shaping up to be the ultimate who’s who of anime heroes. But the latest character to join the crossover fighting game comes as an unexpected surprise. Yugi Mutoh, of Yu-Gi-Oh! fame, will be duking it out with the likes of Goku and Naruto. Announced during this year’s E3, Jump Force is an upcoming fighting game that features characters from Shonen Jump, a Japanese magazine that publishes many iconic stories....

Witchers are traditionally swordmasters capable of basic magic, but early on in The Witcher 3, Vesemir bestows Geralt with a small crossbow. While the younger witcher initially pokes fun at the shake-up in tradition, it quickly becomes clear what a boon the ranged addition is to Geralt’s arsenal. The Griffin encounter that ensues shortly after allows Geralt to test out the crossbow’s firepower and it sure makes for an easier job of slaying the beast....

2K Games has announced that WWE 2K Battlegrounds will launch for PC and consoles in the autumn of this year. The game steps into the shoes left by WWE 2K21, which was cancelled, following the acerbic reception to the very glitchy WWE 2K20. Developed by Saber Interactive, the spin-off aims to deliver silliness instead of simulation, with “arcade-style action and over-the-top Superstar designs, environments and moves.” Three modes are on offer: a Campaign mode following the “adventures of seven new WWE hopefuls,” an Exhibition mode for outrageous matches, and the King of the Battlegrounds mode....

Playtonic developers have created a Super Mario Maker 2 level that riffs off of Yooka-Laylee and The Impossible Lair (via Nintendo Life). Yooka-Laylee and The Impossible Lair is the next game in the Yooka-Laylee series, and released just yesterday. This time, Yooka and Laylee are able to change the levels by flipping switches and turning dials in the overworld. Once they return to the zone, the level could be flooded, frozen, or flustered with water, ice, or gale force winds....

Destiny 2’s first raid, Leviathan, hasn’t been live for that long, but people are already finding glitches to exploit, which is sort of traditional with Destiny raids. There’s the gap in the map that you can get through to run around outside the raid area proper, and now there’s an exploit that will prevent any adds from spawning in the final boss fight with Calus. But one of your team has to have really good timing....
