Unveiled during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, Wo Long: Fallen Destiny was revealed to be headed to Xbox Game Pass on release in 2023. Gearbox has officially announced Wonderlands (or rather Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands) an upcoming Borderlands spin-off. I’ve always enjoyed beat ’em ups. While not a particularly complicated or demanding genre, there’s something inherently satisfying about walking to the right and beating the hell out of everything in your path. Young Souls is technically a beat ’em up. You move to the right while hitting things. The things have life bars. But it’s really more of an action RPG. At just under 55 minutes, it’s technically both a full-length feature film and live-action anime special. Earlier this year, publisher Team17 and developer OverBorder Studio revealed their upcoming project, Thymesia, to the public. The gameplay shown up to this point invited plenty of comparisons to the renowned Dark Souls games, as well as Bloodborne, but it set itself apart thanks to its faster, flashier combat. Although it wears its inspirations on its sleeve, Thymesia looks like a solid, well-realized game in its own right.
