Xbox has announced that from today over 50 free-to-play games will no longer require an Xbox Live Gold membership to play multiplayer online. A statement on the Xbox Wire reads: “As part of listening to your feedback, this change will take place starting today, and all Xbox players will be able to access online multiplayer at no charge for a library of over 50 free-to-play games that support online multiplayer.” The lifting of the charge had first been revealed to be in the works back in January when Xbox decided to reverse a plan to raise the cost of Xbox Live Gold subscriptions....

Microsoft has revealed the full list of confirmed Xbox Play Anywhere games, its new program that gives players access to both an Xbox One and Windows 10 PC copy of the game with a single digital purchase. This year’s Forza Horizon 3, Gears of War 4, ReCore are all included in the program, as are next year’s Sea of Thieves, Halo Wars 2, Scalebound along with a few more. Team17 and Villa Gorilla have staple-gunned a release date to pinball-esque postmaster-’em-up Yoku’s Island Express, confirming the game will launch on May 29 priced at £15.99. The game’s concept is certainly unique. You play as the titular Yoku, a dung beetle living in relative peace on the picturesque Mokumana Island who recenly takes up the job of Postmaster. This is where things get interesting. Yoku is essentially an open-world pinball game, offering a massive island to explore while combining platforming and explorative elements; there’s side quests, characters to meet, and collectibles to hoover up....

Square Enix released new optional items in Final Fantasy XIV’s official store, and it’s Lyse’s outfit and hairstyle. If you’re unfamiliar with what “optional items” are, they’re basically paid DLC that you can purchase in addition to the monthly subscription. The package costs $15 and can be purchased here. It’s worth mentioning that both the outfit (which is a single piece worn on the whole body) and the hairstyle are for female characters only....

Bethesda is inviting gamers to shoot nazis for free and test out the recently released Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus. WRC 5 is coming to PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS Vita and PC this October, a new trailer for the game has confirmed.
