The inaugural Women in Games UK Esports Awards have wrapped, with male journalist and commentator James Banks scooping the gong for best presenter. Xbox has revealed the next set of games and more coming to Xbox Game Pass over the next couple of weeks, and on top of the usual game offerings there’s also a new perk offering a free 30-day subscription to Disney Plus via the Perks part of the service. The Xbox team have announced that player-centric text filters will be coming to the Xbox One by the end of this year, and these will hide offensive language to differing degrees (via Xbox Wire). Xbox Insiders will be able to grapple with the new settings today, and there are four different levels of content filters to choose from. A YouTuber has created a first-person Fortnite experience using the game’s replay system and a little bit of video editing. Fortnite is a third-person battle royale shooter, as we’re sure all of you know. Strangely, it’s never had an option for a first-person view as is available in PUBG. Or multiple other shooters out there. If you think about it, we’ve sort of decided collectively that third-person is a bit less gritty and a bit more cartoony than first-person view, which is probably why Epic Games decided to stick with third-person and not even offer first-person as an option....

Yesterday, the news broke that the ESA was cancelling E3 2022. Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes for Xbox One will be available from August 1 until August 31, which is perfect timing given Phantom Pain is set to launch one day later on September 1.
