Xbox has announced that five more titles have been added to its FPS Boost programme, allowing select backwards compatible titles to run at an increased framerate when played on Xbox Series X|S. Perhaps unsurprisngly, the latest batch of tiles are all from Bethesda, with the timing as such to celebrate Microsoft’s recent purchase of the former’s parent company Zenimax. The five games getting the boost treatement from today are Dishonored: Definitive Edition, Fallout 4, Prey, Fallout 76 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition with the Xbox Wire promising “an increase from 30fps to nearly 60fps” with the feature enabled....

Microsoft has detailed the latest batch of titles heading to Xbox Game Pass between now and early February, including GoldenEye 007, Hi-Fi Rush, Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition for consoles, Darkest Dungeon, Hot Wheels Unleashed, and more. Hi-Fi Rush is, of course, developer Tango Softworks’ freshly announced (and rather splendid-looking) rhythm adventure, which comes to Xbox Series X/S, PC, and cloud via Game Pass today. That’ll soon be joined by the legendary GoldenEye 007, which gets a gentle spruce-up for cloud and Xbox on 27th January....

Xbox Game Pass for consoles has added three new games. Some Xbox Game Pass subscribers had criticized Microsoft for failing to offer them the exciting games that it had teased for this month, but it now seems like the service is giving fans what they want. In a tweet, Xbox Game Pass confirmed that three major new games are now available on the console version of the service. The biggest new game that subscribers can enjoy is Kingdom Hearts 3....

XCOM 2 Collection is bringing its compelling blend of strategy-fused alien blasting to PS4 and Xbox One at some point in the near future, developer Firaxis Games has announced. According to a Tweet from the developer, the collection will retail for $49.99 and includes the vanilla edition of XCOM 2 alongside the War of the Chosen expansion, plus an additional four DLC packs: Resistance Warrior, Anarchy’s Children, Alien Hunters, and Shen’s Last Gift....

Earlier this week, Square Enix confirmed the release date for Final Fantasy 8 Remastered, revealing that the upgraded version of the classic JRPG is set to launch on September 3. WWE announced this morning that Crown Jewel will be held as scheduled on Nov. 2 in Saudi Arabia. The company didn’t send out a statement, but rather included it in their third quarter financial results, which were posted to their corporate website on Thursday morning. Microsoft will reveal its next-generation Xbox console at E3 2019, according to a report on JeuxVideo (via VG247). As previously reported, the format holder is planning on launching two versions of the new Xbox: the Anaconda and the Lockhart. The former is the high-end version, similar to the current Xbox One X, while the latter will be an entry-level machine without a disc drive. In addition, the Xbox Anaconda will reportedly retail for around $500 at launch, and is scheduled for release around late 2020....

Xbox has announced the games coming via Xbox Games with Gold scheme in July for Xbox Live Gold subscribers on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Xbox One S will upscale games to a 4K resolution as well as supporting 4K video playback, Xbox marketing exec Aaron Greenberg has confirmed. Speaking to IGN last night, Greenberg explained that certain games like Gears of War 4 and Scalebound are being optimised to take advantage of HDR technology, which is available with newer 4K TVs, and that all Xbox One content running through the console will be upscaled to run at 4K....
