2,600 MS-DOS classics that were released by Internet Archive for streaming in web browsers can now be embedded into tweets. This means classic games such as Lemmings and Castle Wolfenstein can be seen as playable games inside people’s tweets. Whilst Internet Archive’s aim is to create an, erm… archive of digital content so people will be able to access it in years to come, some titles – such as Duke Nuken 3D – have been removed as it still remains on active sale....

A limited time free trial of FIFA 17 will be available to download on PS4 and Xbox One this weekend, EA has announced. The trial, which is slightly different to the earlier demo, will offer players time with “all in game” features of FIFA 17, including Ultimate Team, Career Mode and a “portion” of new story mode, The Journey. You’ll be able to download it from 6pm GMT tomorrow, November 24, and play it right up until 8am next Monday, November 28, with progress able to be carried over to the full game....

Depression Quest creator Zoe Quinn has accused Night in the Woods developer Alec Holowka of abuse, in a statement posted on Twitter today. Quinn claims that their relationship with Holowka began over Skype, as Quinn had been sexually assaulted by a game developer and that their visa status would be threatened if they went public with the accusation. Holowka was sympathetic and he invited Quinn to stay in Winnipeg with him, agreeing to pay for their flight home after the visit as they could not afford the round trip....

World of Warcraft fans will be gagging to get their hands on the next expansion Battle for Azeroth and pre-orders are now live. Pre-ordering will grant early access to the quests for the four new Allied races, the Horde’s Highmountain Tauren and Nightborne, and the Alliance’s Lightforged Draenei and Void Elves. As usual, there’s a Digital Deluxe Edition which comes with mounts, a baby Tortolian Pet, some Overwatch stuff, Hearthstone card pack, StarCraft 2 sprays, and a Heroes of the Storm mount....

Microsoft has announced the final slew of titles coming to Xbox Game Pass this month, with Deus Ex: Mankind Divided joining the lineup tomorrow. The action-RPG will be joined by the critically acclaimed What Remains of Edith Finch on the same day. March 28 will see The Walking Dead: Michonne join Xbox Game Pass alongside Dontnod Entertainment’s grisly blood-sucker, Vampyr. Finally, Operencia: The Stolen Sun will arrive on March 29, thus completing March’s offering....

One of the best action-JRPGs of the PlayStation Vita era is coming to the PS4 next spring. Ys: Memories of Celceta was rated as one of the best JRPGs when it was released on the PS Vita way back in 2012 (or 2013 if you lived in North America). Recently, Kotaku ran an article exploring the two month delay of Batman: Arkham Asylum from June to August of 2009. This is the final big reward from this year’s The International Battle Pass, following on from the Wraith King, Anti-Mage, Queen of Pain, and Pudge Arcanas and Personas. Xbox boss Phil Spencer reveals that he is visiting Japanese studios to talk about Xbox Series X games. Microsoft could have big plans for the Xbox Series X in Japan after the Xbox One’s Japan sales were very disappointing. On Twitter, Phil Spencer said that he is enjoying being back in Japan to talk to “amazing studios and publishers about 2020 and beyond.” Spencer also said that Japan has a “really strong energy and excitement here about gaming’s future....

Nintendo’s latest Direct presentation has concluded, focused specifically on the upcoming RPG sequel Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Featuring a good long look at the game’s cast, the video also gave us an excellent idea of what we can expect when the game releases December 1. In addition an Expansion Pass was revealed, offering an entire year’s worth of extra content starting with ‘helpful items for your adventure’ soon after launch, new quests for the main game from January, a new Rare Blade in Spring followed by a new challenge mode in Summer and new story content in Autumn 2018....
