Jim Carrey has confirmed previous rumours that he’s stepping into the role of Dr. Robotnik for Paramount’s upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog film. Speaking at TCA (via Deadline), The Mask actor revealed that his character ‘will be live-action,’ and commented that he plans to bring Eggman to life with ‘magic, mixed with desperation.’ Presumably this includes growing a huge moustache too, as it wouldn’t be Robotnik without one. Sonic the Hedgehog is due to hit cinemas in November 2019 and includes James Marsden in a major role....
So successful was the first Dead Rising movie, Watchtower, that Crackle has greenlit a follow-up titled Dead Rising Endgame, Variety reports. The sequel is set in the zombie-infested quarantined zone of East Mission City, and will once again star Jesse Metcalfe as investigative reporter Chase Carter who must stop a secret government conspiracy that, while ending the zombie threat, will also kill millions of innocent people. “With last year’s success of Dead Rising: Watchtower, there was no question that Crackle viewers had an insatiable appetite for this popular and entertaining franchise,” said Eric Berger, GM of Crackle and exec VP, Sony Pictures Television Digital Networks....

Hideo Kojima’s next game will feature mechs designed by famed Metal Gear Solid artist Yoji Shinkawa, it’s been revealed. Talking to IGN, Shinkawa explained that his role as Art Director at the new Kojima Productions will, for the most part, be “the same it’s always been”. “I’ll be in charge of creating the concept for the characters, concepts for the backgrounds, concepts for the mechs, their designs,” he said. “Once that’s done, I’ll also overlook the whole art process....
Former Sonic boss Yuji Naka has been formally indicted for insider trading offences. According to NHK and spotted by VGC, the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office’s Special Investigation Department have indicted Naka and Taisuke Sasaki for investing millions of yen in a company based on insider information that had yet to be made public. The prosecutors allege that neither Naka nor Saskai would have invested the ¥144.7m if they hadn’t known Square Enix was about to announce a partnership with a mobile developer....
