Microsoft is giving away a pair of Sonic-branded Xbox Series S consoles and - the true star of the show - two sets of furry Xbox controllers. Images of these prizes - which, alas, money literally cannot buy - were published today in a wonderfully descriptive Xbox Wire blog post. Microsoft has tried hard to avoid using the word “furry” here. Sodesco’s Xenon Racer caught my attention since its initial reveal late last year. WWE 2K publisher Take-Two Interactive - as well as the WWE itself - have been ordered to pay damages to a tattoo artist whose designs appeared in multiple wrestling games. A jury has decided the companies must pay $3750 to Catherine Alexander, who designed tattoos for pro wrestler Randy Orton, after their likenesses appeared on Orton’s character in WWE 2K16, 17 and 18. Alexander had pushed for a higher amount, including a share of profits from the games, Reuters reported....

The Nintendo Switch version of platfomer Yooka-Laylee releases today, and to celebrate developer Playtonic Games has put out a launch trailer for the occasion. It’s got all the content and subsequent updates from the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC versions as well as some Switch-exclusive features such as single Joy-Con support in the multiplayer party games and even its own achievements system.

Following on from its recent apology regarding the localisation for YS VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, the game’s developer NIS America has said that the PC version of the game is now on track to be released in mid-December. The PC version received a delay in order to improve the quality of the gameplay last month. In a post on its Steam community page, the developer has expanded on the reasons for the delay, and explained how it’s working to fix these issues....

There are always more HERO monsters. Yet another sub-archetype within the giant army of Hero cards, the Vision Heros are essentially Aster Phoenix’s version of Jaden’s Masked Heroes. While Jaden eventually started focusing on the Masked Heroes over the regular Elemental Heroes in the manga, Aster Phoenix went with the Vision Heroes—a group of all Dark Attribute Warrior monsters. The Vision Heroes have a unique playstyle that’s actually reminiscent of Crystal Beasts....

Three games have been added to the Video Game Hall of Fame: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Ms. Pac-Man, and Sid Meier’s Civilization. The Strong Museum’s World Video Game Hall of Fame, based in Rochester, New York, has inducted 36 games since it began in 2015. Now it includes three seminal games, all deserving of their place.
