Yooka-Laylee’s upcoming Nintendo 64 demaster has been given the trailer treatment courtesy of developer Playtonic Games, and it’s looking pretty much as you would expect. The 64-bit Tonic downgrade been in the pipeline for some time now, back when Yooka-Laylee first rocked up on Kickstarter. It does pretty much what it says on the tin: The game has been totally reimagined as something that’s just come out of the mid-90s, from blocky character models to a capped frame rate....

Ahead of the Dead Space Remake release this week, Epic Games has just announced a new Dead Space-themed cosmetic pack for Fortnite. The pack costs $12, and comes with an Isaac Clarke skin, two back blings, a Plasma Cutter-style pickaxe, as well as a model of the iconic USG Ishimura. In addition to that, purchasers will also get access to the Strange Transmissions quest pack, which allows players to complete quests in-game to earn even more V-Bucks as they play....

It’s more than fair to say that Fallout 76 has hit quite a few significant bumps on the road ever since it released last year: the post-apocalyptic online RPG has struggled with bugs, controversy, and large-scale griefing. As a result, many consumers who played the game attempted to get refunds, with Bethesda Softworks parent company ZeniMax turning many of them down. Today, however, consumers in Australia have won a big victory in getting their money back: the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has accepted a court-enforceable undertaking on behalf of Australian Fallout 76 players who want a refund....

Heading into the 2019 Overwatch League Finals, most experts favored the San Francisco Shock to win the championship. WWE 2K20 is far from being a decent game due to numerous bugs, glitches, and other problems. Following hot on the heels of the rumour that Spotify is coming to the Xbox One, the officially unconfirmed Spotify app now has a product listing on the Xbox Store. Visually, the Xbox Spotify app looks to be pretty much the same as the PS4 version, and that’s no bad thing. The product description seems to confirm that the Xbox app will have exactly the same functionality as the PS4 version....

Hit turn-based-strategy game XCOM 2 is heading to PS4 and Xbox One this September, 2K has announced. The game first launched on PC earlier this year. Available in North America from September 6 and worldwide from September 9, the console versions are being developed by US studio The Workshop and will be available for a slightly lower-than-usual RRP of £39.99. “The incredible reception of XCOM 2 has been rewarding and humbling for the team, and we’ve known console fans have been clamouring to play the game too,” said creative director Jake Solomon....

Sega is easily one of the most volatile companies in the gaming industry. Once upon a time, they were an absolute juggernaut, even dethroning Nintendo at one point in the ’90s. Nowadays the company doesn’t publish hardware anymore, and outside of Sonic the Hedgehog and Yakuza, not much software either. According to a report from Bloomberg published earlier today, the creator of Yakuza, Toshihiro Nagoshi might be headed towards greener pastures at NetEase....

Yakuza: Like a Dragon (a.k.a. Ryu Ga Gotoku 7) is a mere few weeks away from release in Japan and some new information has come out about its battle systems. As reported previously, numerous cameos of characters from past Yakuza games will be featured and those characters will take the form of summons. As for what this demo contains, you’ll be able to experience the first hour of Scramble. There’s no save data carry over and you’ll be limited to just Joker, but it’s still a sample of what’s to come. With Atlus still not talking about a western release date, this may be the quickest way to figure out if the game is for you. It should be noted that the Japanese version of Scramble does not contain an English translation....

Inquisitive early adopters of the PlayStation VR have discovered that you can actually use the headset as a display for other HDMI devices such as the Xbox One, Wii U and a PC. First spotted by a Japanese blog and posted on Reddit, then checked out by Ars Technica, it appears PS VR will default to a cinematic view mode which displays the connected source material, complete with sound via the PS VR headphone jack....

Microsoft has announced that Just Cause 3 is available to play for free on Xbox One over the next few days. It’s pretty good timing, seeing as how Just Cause 4 is out early next month.
