One of the very few MMOs (other than Guild Wars) I have ever spent any significant amount of time with is EVE Online, CCP’s space faring magnum opus. Other than the announcement of their spin-off title, DUST 514, CCP has been very quiet about any new games it plans on bringing to the market. Hopefully all that is about to change with World of Darkness. A few years ago, CCP Games announced that they will be working with a brand new IP in their MMO iteration of White Wolf’s long running World of Darkness pen-and-paper RPG series....

In our sixth installment of our weekly World of Warcraft Wisdom feature I discuss reality. We have all had those nights playing where we are in some sort of quest, instance, or raid and we fail or wipe. When this happens, we get up an try it again. I have written about my first foray into heroic Deadmines. This was not the first time that a group of players had to learn how to do something in order to move on....

World War One multiplayer shooter Verdun has been rated for PS4 and Xbox One by European ratings board PEGI, suggesting a console port could be on the way. The rating since appears to have been wiped from PEGI’s website, but a reference to it remains on the board’s automated Twitter account. Verdun launched in full on PC last year and prides itself on being the “first multiplayer FPS set in a realistic World War One setting”, featuring squad-based 32-player trench battles....

Well, it’s finally happening: there will be X-Men and Fantastic Four movies on Disney+. No, not new Marvel Studios productions, sadly (although if we don’t get this pandemic under control soon it might very well be the only way we’ll be experiencing movies for a while), but a number of the 20th Century Fox…ahem…we mean 20th Century Studios…versions of the merry mutants and the first family of Marvel. Disney+ will become the streaming home of the first X-Men movie (which isn’t as good as you remember), X-Men: Days of Future Past (which might be better than you remember), the forgettable X-Men: Apocalypse, and James Mangold’s The Wolverine (which might be worth a re-evaluation after his brilliant Logan…which will surely never be seen on Disney+) between July and September....

What on Earth did Ricochet do to piss off Vince McMahon? Last Thursday afternoon, Ricochet was beaten in about three minutes by Brock Lesnar in a WWE Championship match at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia. Twitter groaned after the loss, but quite frankly, it made a lot of sense. Ricochet is an amazing talent and he could easily be in a main-event level position on RAW, but he’s never been booked that way....

Mobile gaming giant Zynga is currently investigating a cyber attack that it claims has accessed the account information from millions of players for some of its most popular games. This is nothing new for digital companies, and allegedly not the first time this particular hacker has committed a similar security breach. While Zynga is the current target of this hacker, the person claiming responsibility has also been in the news before, having stolen data from 16 separate websites and compiled information from nearly a billion user accounts....

World of Warcraft players might have received Cataclysm poorly compared to its predecessors, but that was nothing compared to the backlash that came with the remarkably ill-received expansion entitled Warlords of Draenor (WoD). It looked poised to provide some interesting and creative features. Unfortunately, cut content and a seemingly troubled development cycle created an expansion that didn’t quite live up to what it could have been. That doesn’t mean it didn’t have some good parts though....

Of all the classes in World of Warcraft: Classic, two are limited by faction: Paladins for the Alliance, and Shamans for the Horde. This was a rather big deal in the game upon first release, as the options weren’t even visible in the opposite faction. Many Alliance players initially found themselves confused when they saw a Tauren, slamming these strange wooden totems into the ground and hurling lightning towards their target....

The Xbox Series X is set to bring next-gen gaming to living rooms across the world in 2020. This means that the possibilities are endless for fans when it comes to the new games they expect to see on the brand new hardware. Along with all of this optimism, fans have to understand that there will also likely be a number of franchises that get put in the closet to make way for new and interesting ideas....

A new listing on the Xbox store has revealed the existence of a multiplayer “standalone DLC” for the Destroy All Humans! series known as Clone Carnage. The sales page reveals the game will have six new maps for players to frolic around in, as well as four new modes – Rampage, Armageddon, Race and Abduction (via ResetEra). Clone Carnage will seemingly support up to four-player multiplayer, or a local two-player multiplayer option with split screen gameplay....

In Diablo 4, players will finally be able to do something they’d always wanted to do: rebind the left-click button. Ever since the days of the original Diablo, left-click had always meant the same thing: move and attack. The simplicity of the system was praised at the time; if you want something dead, just click on it. If you want to go somewhere, just click on that place. However, there was a problem with this simplicity....

I have a lot of memories playing Zombies Ate My Neighbors on the Super Nintendo back in the day. Fighting off the undead with improvised weapons while rescuing survivors hit that arcade satisfaction spot with much success. Now, both the game and its sequel, Ghoul Patrol, are coming to PC via Steam. Whether the games will be ported or emulated remains to be seen, but we don’t have too long to wait before we find out, as the duology will be released on June 29....

The original Dead Rising still stands as one of, if not my favorite, zombie games of all time. Something just felt right about being locked in a mall filled with zombies - using the merchandise in the stores to fend of the undead hordes dead-set on tearing into your skull. When I heard that Dead Rising 2 was in the works, I was overjoyed. Then, news surfaced that there would be drop-in 2 player cooperative play and I was sold, and judging by our own John Jacques’ hands-on with the game at E3 2010, it looks to be shaping up quite well....

PC gamers are going to have to wait a while for Red Dead Redemption 2, if it appears at all. There is another game that will take players into the wild west, the aptly named MMO Wild West Online which has been in beta testing for a while. Today they announced that the game will be coming out of their own early access and will launch on 10 Mat on Steam....

There’s a new arcade racer on the horizon and its name is Pacer. Rhymes aside, Pacer from developer R8 Games looks like a major throwback to Wipeout, the PlayStation racing series. In Pacer, vehicles don’t stick to the ground, as it’s all about anti-gravity racing, just like Wipeout. The team released a new Pacer trailer that includes a release date for just next month. Pacer is looking to introduce some more modern features when it launches, though....

This week’s Spotlight Hour is all about the curiously named Water Fish Pokémon, making it the perfect time to catch a perfect Wooper in Pokémon Go. While this Water/Ground-type Pokémon may not be particularly fishy — we expected the Water Fish to be one of the actually-fish-shaped Pokémon out there — Wooper and its evolution Quagsire do see use in some corners of Pokémon Go thanks to its impressive bulk. However, the real draw for this week’s Spotlight Hour is the special bonus that runs alongside the event – the double catch Stardust bonus....

In this installment of our weekly World of Warcraft Wisdom feature I’m going to take a break from the WoW expansion series I’ve been working - since there is something on my mind. As many of you know, I teach high school, and as the year winds down and summer vacation looms just above the horizon, I have been paying attention to the rituals that happen at this time of the year....

While M3GAN is currently doing the rounds with its unique brand of self-aware shocks, a recent announcement has already paired prolific horror producer James Wan back up with Blumhouse and Atomic Monster. According to a report from Deadline, the upcoming project, titled Night Swim, stars Wyatt Russell and Kerry Condon. The premise, unassuming as it may sound, is based on a 2014 short film wherein a woman is stalked by a mysterious force while swimming in her backyard pool....

After just over a week of rumor, Xbox and Bethesda have confirmed that they will indeed be holding a joint Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase on Sunday, June 13. As per the announcement on the Xbox Wire, the event will be broadcast around the world at 6pm UK time on that date, and promises a 90 minute show “packed with everything you want to know aout the epic gaming lineup coming out of this partnership, the incredible games coming to Xbox this holiday, upcoming releases on Xbox Game Pass and more....

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass is getting more games. How many? Oh, it’s going to be a lot, and a good few of them will be playable on PC. Earlier today during X019, the publisher dropped a video highlighting dozens of games coming to the service. While many of the games are confirmed as Xbox One only, around half will be available for PC as well. There are also a few notable surprises in the mix....
